Dr Martin Fernando is our principal dentist. Born and raised in Hobart, Martin decided at a very young age that he wanted to become a dentist. After completing his education at the The Friends' School he was accepted into the Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Adelaide. He worked in a prominent Hobart CBD practice for 10 years before purchasing his own practice. Martin continually strives to make routine dental care as accessable and affordable to as many people as possible.
Dr Angie Nilsson BChD. (Leeds, UK)
Angie graduated in 2003 from Leeds University in the beautiful north of England. She went on to study at the Eastman's dental institute in London obtaining a postgraduate certificate in restorative dentistry.
Her passion in dentistry is patient-centred care with an interest in dental-phobics. She is currently studying for a master in health professional education while supervising final year dental students.
Angie moved from the UK to Townsville in 2010 where she enjoyed five glorious years of tropical weather. After a visit to the Huon valley in 2014 she immediately fell in love with Tasmania and decided to relocate here with her husband and two young boys. She has enjoyed working at Glenorchy City Dental since early 2015.
Dr Sarah Ngieng BHSc(Latrobe) MDent(Latrobe)
Sarah graduated from the University of Latrobe in 2013. After graduation she worked in private practice in Melbourne, before taking time off to volunteer in providing dental emergency services to the Nepalese people, where she developed skills in complex diagnosis, extraction and minor oral surgery. Sarah relocated to Tasmania in 2014 and has enjoyed working at Glenorchy City Dental for the past 12 months.
Sarah has a keen interest in preventive dentistry and patient education. She enjoys working with children and anxious patients. In her spare time she enjoys photography and exploring the wonderful scenery of Tasmania.
